GFL Board

"To be able to do what I love and help others at the same time is a truly indescribable feeling."

Kathleen M. Lee – President, Trustee

Kathleen M. Lee is a partner at Harwood Lloyd in Hackensack, NJ. Kathleen was named President of Goals for Life Inc. in January 2004 having served on the Board of Trustees since January 2002.

She first became involved with the organization when its founders called upon her to assist with the legal side of the group’s formation. Kathleen currently plays soccer with the Sweeps, and spends her spare time running and hiking.

Why do I do it? Having played soccer since I was a child growing up in Bloomfield, Goals for Life just seemed like the next logical step. As the youngest of three, with two older brothers, sports have always been a central theme in my life. To be able to do what I love and help others at the same time is a truly indescribable feeling. I am grateful for all the support everyone has shown to Goals for Life so that we can continue to make a difference in people’s lives.

"Through Goals for Life, I feel blessed to be meeting inspirational women and hearing their life stories which motivates me each year to continue to work for the success of this organization."

Lisa Ciardi – Founder & Vice-President, Trustee

Lisa Ciardi is a full-time physical therapist at Ascend Physical Therapy in her hometown of Montclair. Lisa and her husband, Kevin, have enjoyed watching their kids thrive in the Montclair school and sports community. She is proud to have been a part of Goals for Life since its inception because it has allowed her to integrate her passion for sports with a desire to support women’s health initiatives.

Sports have always been a passion of mine – the competitiveness, the bonding, the drive to reach personal or global goals, and to feel fit and healthy. This exemplifies my life. I grew up in Brooklyn, the oldest of five children, played all recreational and high school sports, and then went to NYU to be a physical therapist to learn how to rehabilitate other athletes. Through Goals for Life I feel blessed to be meeting inspirational women, hearing their life stories motivates me each year to continue to work for the success of this organization. I thank John, Olivia, Madeline, Conor, Aidan, and Kevin for their support and help with each year that turns and as a reminder of how precious each life is.

Ellen Paretti – Treasurer, Trustee

Ellen Paretti has served as treasurer for Goals for Life since its inception in January 2001 and became a member of the Board of Trustees in 2004. In addition to her work with GFL, Ellen also serves as CFO of Montclair non-profits Life Management, Inc. and Parents Who Rock.

Martha Bowden – Secretary, Trustee

Martha is a retired Independent Insurance Agency owner who has dedicated much of her time over the years volunteering, serving, and working with several organizations. She has served as the Secretary of Goals for Life for over 20 years, and as a Trustee for 20 years.

Donna Davis – Trustee

Donna Davis is a Senior Integrated Producer at ProHealth, a medical education agency in New York. She is a strong advocate for humanitarian causes and community service events. As a soccer mom of a now professional women’s soccer player, Donna started as a volunteer with Goals for Life in 2006 along with her daughters, Danielle and Deja, and became a member of the board of trustees in 2018.

I enjoy watching soccer and love the idea of knowing that the work I am doing supports raising funds for important women’s health initiatives. Donna and her husband Joseph live in Montclair and also have a son Justin and three grandchildren: Tyler, Cameron, and Cassidy.

Madeline Ciardi, Trustee

Maddy has been a part of Goals for Life since she was a little girl and had the honor to watch her mother and a group of women raise money for Breast Cancer. She always thought it was amazing how so many people could come to gather to support women in need and couldn’t wait to be old enough to be one of those women. Now as an adult she’s proud to be a trustee and be able to support multiple charities helping women.

Maddy is originally from Montclair, New Jersey and went to play lacrosse at Coastal Carolina University. After graduation she decided to follow in her mother’s footsteps and receive her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from NYU. Maddy currently lives in Brooklyn practicing as a Physical Therapist at New York Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist.

Olivia Ciardi – Trustee

Olivia has grown up with Goals for Life being a volunteer since its inception and becoming a member of the Board in 2015. She grew up watching her mom, Lisa, be part of this organization and couldn’t wait to continue the work alongside her helping other women. Tournament day has always been a day to look forward to, enjoying the competitive nature both on and off the field.

After graduating college in 2014 Olivia went to work and live in New York City, but has recently moved back to Montclair with her fiancé, Jonathan. Outside of GFL she spends her time working as an account executive at Cole Haan, enjoying time with friends and family, and as a new member in a local soccer league with most of the women she grew up watching play.

Sharon Kaus, Trustee

Dr. Kaus volunteered with Goals for Life since its early days before becoming a member of the Board of Trustees.  She grew up in Linden, New Jersey and graduated from Montclair State University and UMDNJ – Stratford.  Dr. Kaus runs her own practice, Pinelands Pediatrics, in Sicklerville, New Jersey.  She spends her free time playing volleyball and hanging out with her cats, the sweet Kenzie and the energetic Gideon.

Siobhan Morello – Trustee

Siobhan has played in each Goals for Life tournament, the last 10 as a Trustee. Much to her own astonishment, she continues to play indoor and outdoor soccer year-round. Tournament day is a highlight, though, because of the joy of kicking a ball around with women who love the game, but also because of the life-changing effect of our efforts.

With a background in event planning and catering, Siobhan coordinates weddings and public events at a 100-year old Gothic church in Montclair, while also acting as its Property Manager. Having recently downsized, Siobhan and her husband are adjusting to daily life without their young-adult children under our roof. Life is good.
